Mr. Liye Zhou, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Liye Zhou graduated from Department of Engineering Physics and Department of Physics in Tsinghua University in 1984 and obtained his master's degree in Nuclear Institute, Tsinghua University in 1986. He then joined Nuclear Institute, Tsinghua University, working for scientific development, research management, transference of technical achievement and relevant industrialization during 1987 and 2003, who served as director of research laboratory, general secretary and deputy director of the Institute consecutively. He was Vice President of Tsinghua Holding Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Neimenggu Hongfeng Industrial Corporation. Since 2004, he has also been acting as Member of the Board of Tsinghua Tongfang Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Board of Shijiazhuang Yongsheng Huatsing Liquid Crystal Co., Ltd. Besides, he has also held the positions including Chairman of the Board and Director of Tsinghua Holding Co., Ltd, Chairman of the Board of H&H Investment Management Co., Ltd, Chairman of the Board of Thunip Holdings, Chairman of the Board of Beijing Huahuan Electronics Co., Ltd and Chairman of the Board of Liaoning Road & Bridge Construction Corporation since 2006.
Dr. Cheng obtained his Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from Tongji University in 1983, and a Ph.D. in forensic biology from the University of Strathclyde in 1992. He then pursued postdoctoral work at the University of Strathclyde, the University of Aberdeen and the University of Pennsylvania. From 1996, he has held various senior positions in the life sciences domain including the Research Assistant Professor of University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Principal Investigator at Nanogen and CTO of AVIVA Biosciences. Currently, he is also the Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Beijing Biochip Technology (NERCBBT), a member of The National High Technology Program of China (863 Program) field expert, and the Chairman of National Technical Committee on Biochip of Standardization Administration of China. Dr. Cheng has received 26 international patents and 23 Chinese patents, published 94 papers and 8 books. Dr. Cheng has received the Distinguished Achievement Award for Returned Overseas Scholars, National Young Scientist Award, Qiushi Outstanding Youth High-Tech Transfer Award, Second Prize of the National Awards for Technological Innovation in 2007, HO LEUNG HO LEE Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation in 2008 and Tanjiazhen Life Science Innovation Award in 2008.
Dr. Keith Mitchelson, Vice President, International Business Development and Marketing
Dr. Mitchelson joined CapitalBio in early 2006. Previously, he held posts at the Australian Genome Research Facility where he was Associate Director - Science and Technology, and at the biotechnology company Forbio Research as a Senior Scientist. Dr. Mitchelson has extensive experiences in sequencing technology, capillary electrophoresis, DNA separation technologies, and has a broad academic experience in molecular biology and biophysics and has published widely with over 50 research papers and 3 edited books. Dr. Mitchelson previously held teaching posts at the University of Aberdeen, UK. His educational training includes a Bachelor's Degree and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Melbourne and postdoctoral training at the University of Portsmouth, UK.
